HIKE BY DAY, AURORA BY NIGHT.
For one week, we'll share Lofoten in winter with you the way we live it, as locals.
Our days are spent outdoors: hiking snowy summits with the sea right below, kayaking along the coast and heading out at night to chase the northern lights. Living here all year means we know where to go when the weather changes, so we can make the most of every day.
But winter in Lofoten is also about slowing down. Warming up in a spa by the sea, wandering through colourful fishing villages, or sitting in a cozy café with a coffee and a cinnamon bun while the snow falls outside.
And here, you never quite know how the day will end. Some evenings, just as dinner is ready, the aurora forecast lights up and we're out the door, heading to a dark beach to watch the sky come alive.
A week of adventure, good company and Arctic winter, shared with a small group and with the people who call Lofoten home.

WINTER IN LOFOTEN, THE WAY WE LIVE IT
We're Javi and Teresa, and we live in Lofoten all year round.
When we're not guiding, our winter days look a lot like this trip: a hike with friends, a stop at the bakery on the way home, a relaxing evening in our favourite sauna, and an eye on the aurora forecast after dinner.
This week is our way of sharing that with you. The routes we know best, the places we go to, and the way we plan our days in this magical place that we call home.

WHO IS THIS TRIP FOR?
This trip is for people who love being outdoors and want to experience Lofoten in winter in an active way, sharing the adventure with a small group.
You don't need to be an expert hiker, but you should enjoy spending a few hours a day in the mountains. We adapt the pace to the group, and no previous experience with snowshoes is needed.
Many of our guests travel on their own or with a friend. Sharing the house, the adventures and the evenings together is a big part of what makes this week special.
If you're not sure whether it's right for you, message us on WhatsApp and we’ll talk it through.

SCHEDULE
Day 1 – Arrival
We'll pick you up at Leknes Airport and drive to the house, where you'll settle in and meet the rest of the group.
Days 2–7 – Winter adventures
Each day is planned around the weather and the group, to make the most of the conditions.

There'll also be time to walk along the snowy beaches, wander around fishing villages like Nusfjord and Henningsvær, the village we call home, stop at cozy cafés and, whenever the sky allows, head out at night to chase the northern lights.
Day 8 – Departure
After breakfast, we'll drive you back to Leknes Airport.

Spectacular hikes with Trad! I'd never used crampons or snowshoes before, and they were a huge help. We did several routes, and everything was fantastic. Plus, their recommendations (places to eat, saunas, accommodations, routes, villages, views...) were all spot on. They're incredibly friendly and professional. Without a doubt, the best way to explore Lofoten!

Could a trip with Trad Adventures change your life? Yes.
I’d been searching for that feeling and belonging for over a decade, and these guys created an experience that showed me climbing is so much more than just an activity or a sport. It’s a craft, an adventure and a community.
Thank you for an unforgettable week. See you in 2027!
Jocelyn Brown, USA
I had such an amazing week climbing in Lofoten with Trad Adventures.
Javi and Teresa were fantastic: knowledgeable, encouraging, fun to spend time with, and they made the whole experience feel like so much more than just a guided climbing trip.
I came to Norway on my own, and by the end of the week I felt like I had found a little climbing community. We climbed in absolutely incredible places, I learned a ton, and I felt supported while still being challenged as a climber.
Javi and Teresa clearly love what they do and the place they get to share with people, and that really comes through. I would absolutely climb with Trad Adventures again and can’t recommend Javi and Teresa enough.
